Greetings from the Hiding Place!
Though spring is still a couple weeks away, the beginning of Daylight Savings is a happy reminder that planting and growing seasons are already getting underway. We’re excited to enter our second year of farming out our yard and anticipate higher yields and successes this year. We learned a lot from last year, especially from the challenges we faced (groundhogs, foxes, bad soil) so we feel much better prepared for this year, which will no doubt have its own set of obstacles. We also anticipate some fun new endeavors as we add bee hives to the property and continue to cultivate a regular flock of chickens (hence the fox problem…).
We wanted to reach out all of you who have expressed support for this project and let you know about/invite you to participate in some of the things we have going on in the next 6 months.
Annual Easter Sunrise Service and Champagne Breakfast
Join us for our annual celebration of Easter with a sunrise service and breakfast! Bring a song, poem, reading, or reflection, and then a dish to share! April 1, 6:15 AM. RSVP Here.
Spring Work Day
A year ago, we moved tons of dirt and built 6 beds in our hoop house. This year, we have some more ambitious plans to build out an herb garden bed and to finally make more progress on our meditation garden. April 7, 9:30 AM-5 PM. (Can’t make it? We’re trying to raise $1500 to fund the design process and purchasing of plants for the prayer garden. Feel free to drop us some green so we can plant more green!)
Spring and Summer Concert Series
Last fall, we built an outdoor stage in our backyard and hosted our first concert. This year, we’re looking to find some music acts to come and give concerts here. Know someone who performs? Connect us! Be on the lookout as well for our first Female Songwriter Showcase that we’re planning to host!
If you can’t make it to any of these, please, please come and see us and have dinner!
Peace and all good,
Brian + JoLeah
